The function of the damper is to optimize the acoustic impedance characteristics of the earmold tubing employed with postauricular and eyeglass-type hearing aids, thereby attenuating to a great extent the resonant peaks which are almost always present in the response of ear-level aids.

Judicious use of these superior dampers will yield the following results:
• Smoothing of the hearing aid's frequency response.
• Reduction of the hearing aid's overall output level (especially useful for those cases where the hearing aid's MPO exceeds the patient's tolerance level).
• A relative increase in the high-frequency response.
• Increased listening comfort and, in many instances, enhanced speech intelligibility due to the elimination of the sharp mid-frequency peaks which would otherwise mask the critical high-frequency components of the speech signal.

Individual Dampers:

  • 680 Ohms/White •2394-68
  • 1000 Ohms/Brown •2394-100
  • 1500 Ohms/Green •2394-150
  • 2200 Ohms/Red•2394-220
  • 4700 Ohms/Yellow •2394-470
  • Dampers are supplied 10 to a package, one color per package.
